विद्या राजसु पूज्यते न हि धनं विद्या-विहीनः पशुः।।

भर्तृहरिकृतं नीतिशतकम्

Learning is the better adornment of a man (person), the hidden secret wealth. Learning provides for enjoyment, success and pleasure, learning is the teacher of teachers. Learning is a kin while visiting foreign lands, learning is the supreme deity. Learning is adored even among (by) kings (rulers) while wealth is not. One devoid of learning is an animal, (indeed).
